Lodge/Accommodation

The ranch-style lodge is located in the tiny community of Crescent Spur (population 24), 6 km off the main highway. Accented by huge hand-hewn fir logs, the architecture here was very much inspired by our wilderness surroundings. The lodge is beautifully structured with lots of natural local wood (clear fir and birch), with modern artistic touches of steel and river rock. Comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a spacious games room and lounge, two fireplaces, and a family style dining room contribute to a warm and friendly atmosphere.

After-hours you can enjoy the amenities in the lodge, including the sauna, the hot tub, the library, massage therapy… as well as a game of pool, or a drink or two at the bar.

Equipment

Crescent Spur will provide you with specialized powder skis and boards suited for heli-skiing. For skiers we have the Rossignol S7 and the Rossignol Super 7’s  and also provide the poles. We have a few Burton Fish for those snowboarders who do not wish to bring their own board.

Guides & Safety

Your Crescent Spur Heli-Skiing guides are responsible for balancing your desire for exciting and challenging skiing/boarding with the safety and enjoyment of the entire group. You will enjoy the comfort, safety, and convenience of having two heliski guides per group. We provide transceivers (Mammut Barryvox), probes, guest radios (each guest carries their own radio) and we provide each guest with an Avalanche Backpack (Mammut Rocker Avalanche Airbag).

Terrain & Snow

We ski two mountain ranges, and can choose the best depending on conditions. The terrain includes a mix of alpine bowls, glaciers, and naturally gladed big forests.

We have abundance of dry snow with an annual snowfall of 14-21 meters per year.

Ability Level

crescent spur heli-skiing lodge bc canadaWe welcome first time heli-skiers and heli-boarders. If you are comfortable with most runs at a major ski area  – as a boarder you should be comfortable boarding in trees as well as open areas  – you should be fine.

Our heli-skiing guides make every effort to choose runs that will suit your ability and interests and will provide instruction to those who wish.

Heliskiing and heliboarding is most enjoyable when you are fit. Plan to start a fitness program that includes stretching and aerobic exercises at least 8 to 10 weeks prior to your arrival.
