Live the dream Heliski Alaska

Publicerad: 31 August, 2017 av Charlotta Lyon |

Ski News, 31 August 2017

We’re almost in September and it is about time to draw up the plans for the ski season. And, there is simply no good reason not to live the dream. Heliski Alaska this season!

Just watch… and drool…

Before you contact us to book, here’s some stats to make up your mind:

IMG_6660LOCATION: SEABA Heli-Skiing is located in Haines in the South East Alaska and is surrounded by mountains and water. There are several options to go to reach Haines. Either fly to Juneau, Alaska, and take an Alaska Seaplanes flight from Juneau to Haines, or fly to Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, and rent a vehicle for a drive (4 hours) to Haines.

SKI AREA: 3000 square kilometers.

MOUNTAIN RANGE: Chilkat Mountains

RUN LENGTH: Up to 1800 vertical meters.

SKI TERRAIN: Varied terrain for all abilities, long sweeping intermediate runs that will satisfy the desires of the powder connoisseur, challenging summit descents for experts and some of the most extreme terrain in the world. The tree line in Haines, up to 1200 meters, is higher than any other Alaskan heli-skiing destination, so while others are sitting on their thumbs in the lodge wondering when the weather will clear, you’re ripping epic tree lines all day long.

AVERAGE SNOWFALL:  11-15 meters per year

NUMBER OF RUNS PER DAY: Depending on conditions we run up to 12 in a given day. With SEABA’s “hobbs” program you know exactly what you are paying for.

GROUPING: Heli-skiing in small groups of 4, with 1 guide per group. Maximum 6 groups to a heli.

Check out more information about our Alaska heliski operator in Haines, SEABA.

Lite Year in the finest BC backcountry

Publicerad: 7 August, 2017 av Charlotta Lyon |

Ski News, 7 August 2017

Lite Year in the finest BC backcountry. This is why many of us keep going back to BC every year!

Making fresh track in the BC backcountry is simply awesome. Heli-skiing in the Selkirk Range, cat-skiing in the Monashee Mountains and brapping snowmobiles these athletes jump, stomp and carve their way through all kinds of natural terrain. “Lite Years” released from The Big Picture showcases some of the finest backcountry freestyle skiing you’ll ever see.

Shot and edited by the talented Sean Logan, the feature film follows skiers Chris Logan, Parker White, (Parker White’s mullet), Duncan Adams, Mike King and Tanner Rainville, in- and out-of-bounds across Washington and British Columbia. The film is set to release this October.
